2020 / STAR DUST / VILLA PELLÉ / PRAHA

Petr Písařík’s conception of the Villa Pellé space is a captivating installation connecting all of the villa’s spaces into an internally, interconnected emotional whole consisting of expanding three-dimensional objects and dense paintings, like a necklace made up of many stones taken from different places.

Písařík’s work is constantly evolving thanks to his open approach to the most various biomorphic and geometric sources. These often come out of modern art, and his extraordinary ability to transport any object from the surrounding world into the realm of art, sometimes accidentally discovering and saving it from being discarded. Písařík views every exhibition as an unrepeatable challenge to present his newest effort to artistically manifest his inner brilliance. Písařík is one of the most original artists of the contemporary central European art scene, not only because of his distinctive technique, but especially due to his emphasis on the role of sensory perception in which the artwork remains the bearer of beauty. The diversity of shapes in the artist’s work deliberately apply the most contradictory and least expected connections. These are in turn coupled with an immediacy of color sometimes allowing the material itself to sound. This awakens a feeling in the viewer that the author is a surfer who has been riding a wave for decades that he doesn’t intend to come off of.
