XIV.International Glass Symposium (IGS)

TheInternational Glass Symposium in Nový Bor provides visitors with the opportunity to see glassworks andworkshops, world-famous artists in the making, open-air glass festivals, theCrystal Valley weekend, glass studios, exhibitions and the opening of the finalworks in the Glass Museum all within one week. The Symposium’s nearly fortyyear history makes it unique, while its international prestige honours a highlevel of artistic and craftsmanship values and expertise. At the same time, itconnects artists, institutions, curators and master glassmakers striving toreach high cultural values.
This year’smotto is “Glass Without Borders,” a motto reflected in the symposium’sselection of participants who were chosen irrespective of their nationality,faith, race, gender, generational affiliation and mode of expression. Thesymposium was attended by well-known personalities of the art scene and helpedto transcend the boundaries of the traditional use of glass.
