This exhibition is madeup of artists moving on the borderlines of various creative areas and currentsof opinion. These artists move in between free and applied art, poetry, drawingor collage, film and painting, the natural sciences, mathematics, geometry andstructure, art history theory and artistic expression. Their work is situatedbetween astrophysics and the image, the word and sign, assemblage, object andinstallation, sculpture and architecture, sound and visual record, the mobile,variable and stable...
The exhibition bringstogether several generations of artists and attempts to come closer to howtheir expressions may have changed, as well as how different methods ofexpression developed and intersected. The exhibition begins with the work of severalartists from the period before and after the First World War, including VojtěchPreissig and Karel Teige. An important part of the exhibition is formed byartists who became active after the Second World War. For these artists, theintertwining of various areas is particularly important. These artists includeZdeněk Sýkora, Vladislav Mirvald, Ladislav Novák, Jiří Kolář, Běla Kolářová,Milan Grygar, Radek Kratina, Dalibor Chatrný and Olga Karlíková. Each of theseartists moves on the borderlines of different spheres.
